De countdown van de horror is weer begonnen Featured

The apocalypse is approaching and the scariest hour of the year will soon be upon us again in Movie Park Germany! When the full moon rises over the Horrorwood Studios in Germany's largest film and amusement park from October, monsters, undead and zombies will once again be unleashed on visitors for the Halloween Horror Festival 2021.

Evil shows no mercy this year and has new surprises in store. In the new "Acid Warrior" horror track, all Halloween fans can put their survival instincts to the test and race against time with ominous zombies - because the fate of humanity is at stake.

New details and a special rethematization of existing attractions also provide a holistic Halloween experience. This year's Halloween Horror Festival will take place on select days from October 1 to November 7.

"As part of the 23rd Halloween season, we are pleased to present new highlights to our visitors on 23 event days," says Managing Director Thorsten Backhaus. "To this end, we again intensively prepared and coordinated with the authorities to provide our guests with a safe Halloween experience. This time the Movie Park team has integrated a number of existing attractions even more than before, but also realized new ideas. continue to invest more in infrastructure, such as atmospheric lighting concepts. Be surprised by a unique atmosphere on the street."

The new horror course "Acid Warrior"

The fog is thickening, the last hour has struck - and a race against time begins. Only those who are faster than the zombies of the forbidden zone "Acid Rain" can escape the apocalypse in time. But when the time is up, there's no turning back!

From a small group of survivors, the visitors are chosen to secure the energy supply of the Safe Zone and thus protect it from the hordes of zombies. Five buzzers decide their fate. There is not much time left to activate the generators and thus ensure the production of the antiserum. Zombies and undead lurk everywhere, infected by the acid rain and on the hunt for prey. The full-scale horror course takes you through an ominous New York street scene, where horror fans will test not only their speed, agility and stamina, but also their will to survive. All visitors aged 16 and over can take up the challenge on the stunt set in Studio 666.

"Fear Forest - Path of Witches"

Horrorwood Studios brings a new set to the studio grounds with "Fear Forest". This year's production, "Path of Witches," takes horror fans into a dark, remote forest where witches wreak havoc. Stone circles, Ouija boards and supposedly abandoned wooden huts lead guests up hill and dale along a fateful trail where they can witness incantations and witch burnings. But who will be the victim of the burning and who can escape the "Fear Forest"? The modified version of the former "Campout" will still be accessible to all visitors from 12 years old.

And because the Halloween Horror Festival has been a tradition in Movie Park Germany for 23 years, guests can of course also look forward to their favorite horror houses. A total of eight horror attractions and three scare zones will once again give guests chills. In addition to the two new attractions, "The Curse of Chupacabra", "Project Ningyo", "The Slaughterhouse", "Hostel", "Secrets of St. Elmo" and "Circus of Freaks" will provide terrifying and hair-raising moments. In the "Circus of Freaks", the performers have rearranged the management of horror. Visitors can look forward to a new route and new details.

Movie Park Germany is once again offering its popular children's Halloween in Nickland for all families, every day from 12 noon to 5 pm. Being safe is a priority again this year! In addition to a straw maze in the grounds of the "Back at the Barnyard Bumpers" bumper cars or a children's horror house, there are plenty of other Halloween activities for all 4 to 11-year-old Halloween fans, lavishly spread out in the forecourt of the California Café.

Tickets and capacity arrangement for a safe Halloween

Like last year, Movie Park Germany is run by a predetermined visitor capacity. "The safety and health of all employees and guests remain our top priority. That is why we will also limit the capacity in the horror houses this year and only allow small groups in the horror mazes," says Thorsten Backhaus. "In addition, the familiar provisions of the hygiene and infection control concept, which has already proven its worth, apply in the park. Fortunately, no chains of infection among guests or staff have been detected since the Corona pandemic."

As in NRW's current Corona Protection Regulation, only vaccinated, cured or tested guests (3-G rule) can visit the park. Rapid antigen testing can still be performed at the externally operated on-site testing center, but will be performed for a fee for all guests from October 11, 2021, according to the state ordinance.

An online ticket system will also be used to plan visitor capacity. This applies to the general entrance to the park as well as to the respective horror houses. All Halloween fans can book their tickets in advance via the webshop. Movie Park admission tickets include 12 hours of access to the park, including four hours of Halloween Horror Festival with a spooky street atmosphere and scary encounters with the monsters that scare visitors in three Scare Zones and declare them prey.

Time tickets for the horror houses must also be purchased online in addition to the entrance ticket. "Last year we already had very good experiences with the upcharge system of our horror houses. That is why we are sticking to it again this year. This way we can offer smaller groups a more intensive experience and avoid longer waiting times for our guests," says Manuel Prossotowicz , Halloween project manager.

Further Bloodbuster from the 23rd Halloween Horror Festival

Aliens are also celebrating Halloween and have redecorated the "Area 51 - Top Secret" attraction! Pumpkins, garlands and everything that goes with a Halloween party invite you to visit the mysterious American exclusion zone. Starting in October, alien monsters of a different kind await families and children for a wet and merry Halloween experience in the Nevada desert.

Starting October 12, a new prop will also make its way to the Horrorwood studio grounds: Operator Harry P.E.'s spectacular "Fighter" ride. Bruch, at a height of 42 meters with a speed of up to 130 km per hour, guests come a little closer to the afterlife and experience true horror spectacles. Opposite the Van Helsing's Club, LED lighting, sound and fog effects lure the guests of the "Acid Rain" zone into the next battle for survival. The attraction will be in use daily, even outside the days of the Halloween event.

Ready for the second round of "Baboo Twister Express"? The popular "MP Xpress" variant will be launched again this year and will lure visitors to new in-between worlds with light effects and rock music.

The Event Center's studio canteen will be transformed into a large horror store with a huge load of Halloween items for this year's Halloween Horror Festival.

For all those who have managed to escape the new horror experience “Acid Warrior” and the other perils of Horrorwood Studios, the next Halloween party is taking place close by on the streets of New York. DJ Max Bering, known from Parookaville and who has already performed alongside greats such as David Guetta, Felix Jaehn or Martin Solveig, will again provide the soundtrack this year for anyone who wants to record a party scene in a horror film. In the appropriate scare zone "Acid Rain" is far from an end-time mood! Because this is where the dark party really begins.
